American Council of the Blind (ACB)
The American Council of the Blind (ACB) is the nation's leading membership organization of blind and visually impaired people dedicated to promoting independence, equality, and opportunities. ACB has 51 state and regional affiliates and 20 national special interest and professional affiliates. ACB provides a list of organizations and companies that provide products or services useful for blind and visually impaired persons seeking recreational and camping opportunities.
BlazeSports America offers sport team opportunities at different recreational and competitive levels, as well as clinics and leadership development.
Blind Judo Foundation
The Blind Judo Foundation is a nonprofit organization that introduces Judo to blind and visually impaired individuals for sport and rehabilitation purposes helping to build confidence and enhance independence for all who step onto the Judo mat.
Disabled Sports, USA
Disabled Sports/USA is a nationwide network of community-based chapters offering a variety of recreation and competitive sports programs for individuals with disabilities.
Enchanted Hills Camp- San Francisco Lighthouse for the Blind
San Francisco Lighthouse for the Blind sponsors summer adult camping sessions at Enchanted Hills Camp at Mount Veeder in Napa, CA. The sessions are specifically designed for families with a member who is blind or visually impaired, or sessions for blind and visually impaired individuals to attend.
Lakeshore Foundation- Lima Foxtrot Programs
Lakeshore Foundation is a not-for-profit organization in Birmingham, AL that promotes independence for persons with physically disabilities through a wide range of fitness, recreation, athletic, and education programs. The Lima Foxtrot programs are comprehensive programs of fitness, recreation, sport and transition support for severely injured military throughout the nation
Monterey Bay Disabled Veterans- Sports Rehab Center
Monterey Bay Disabled Veterans is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide Disabled Veterans and others with physical challenges a recreational rehabilitation therapy program with special emphasis on marine activities. The organization hosts two fishing derbies each year: The Wheelchair Salmon Fishing Derby in April and the Wheelchair Rock Cod Fishing Derby in September.
