Health Services Research

Post-doctoral fellowship opportunities are available for psychologists, sociologists, epidemiologists, pharmacists, nurses, and other health services researchers, at the VA Health Services Research and Development (HSR&D) Center for Research in the Implementation of Innovative Strategies in Practice (CRIISP), Iowa City Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Fellows will join an interdisciplinary research team comprised of investigators from CRIISP, and the University of Iowa Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Business, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. Opportunities for collaboration are available on several ongoing health services and research projects including work examining translation of evidence based practices, patient adherence to medical treatment regimens, and telehealth and chronic disease management interventions. CRIISP was recently funded as a VA HSR&D Center of Excellence and provides a unique infrastructure and a supportive and exciting intellectual environment for fellows to develop into investigators with independent programs of funded research.

The funding period is for two years. Applicants should be US citizens who have recently completed their doctoral degree from an accredited program and internship, and be eligible for VA research employment.
