The Minneapolis VA Medical Center is located in south Minneapolis in the Nokomis East neighborhood near the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. Area landmarks include Lake Nokomis and Minnehaha Parkway and Creek.

The Mississippi river is close by and separates the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The St. Paul City limits are about one mile east of the Medical Center.

BY LIGHT RAIL
the Hiawatha Line provides light-rail service to 17 stations between downtown Minneapolis and Mall of America, including the VA Medical Center. Tickets are sold at vending kiosks at the rail stations. Two bus routes (19 and 515) connect at the VA Medical Center Station. BY TRAIN

Taxi service is readily available. Downtown Minneapolis is approximately 16 miles from the airport, with fares averaging $28.00-$36.00. The distance to downtown St. Paul is approximately 12 miles and fares average $22.00-$26.00.
