Teamwork [ IMAGE : No description available ] Spinal Cord Injury Service at VA Boston Healthcare System [ IMAGE : ] Massachusetts Sunil Sabharwal, M.D. Network SCI Service Line Director, VISN 1 Chief of Spinal Cord Injury Service, VA Boston Healthcare System Overview: The West Roxbury campus of The VA Boston Healthcare System has a nationally recognized Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder Program, which currently operates under Inpatient CARF Accreditation in Spinal Cord/Medical Rehabilitation Division. The Program has been one of the premier, pioneering centers in the field of Spinal Cord Medicine, with over fifty years of experience and continuous service. The Program is staffed with dedicated professionals and operates with the philosophy of interdisciplinary respect and cooperation in order to provide a continuum of care from the time of injury/onset throughout the life of the individual. The Program conducts active academic training for Medical Residents and Fellows, Nursing Students, Psychology Interns, Social Work Interns, and Trainees in the fields of Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech and Language Pathology. The Medical Staff and Psychology Staff maintain academic affiliation with Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine. The West Roxbury campus program serves to coordinate consistent care of services, as the hub within the "Hub and Spokes" model of care for the region. Location: VA Boston Healthcare System at the West Roxbury Campus Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tours: Families are encouraged to visit for a tour of the SCI Program at the VA Boston Healthcare System, West Roxbury campus. Individual tours may be arranged by calling 857-203-6574 or 857-203-5128 and ask to speak with the Social Worker. Specific directions are available through internet direction and map services. Free Parking is available.

From I-95 / RT 128 heading North or South:
Take Exit #16A, which will place you directly onto RT 109 East. Stay on RT 109 East for approximately 2.5 miles, to the 4th set of traffic lights--this will be a large intersection (Routes 109 and 1 - VFW Parkway). Take a left at the intersection and you'll see a large sign for the VA Medical Center on your right. The Spinal Cord Injury Service is located in Building 2, A-2 Unit, second floor.
