Pharmacy Benefits Program

The Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to announce that First Script Network Services, a national Pharmacy Benefit Management Program, is now available for employees to use when filling workers' compensation prescriptions.

The prescription drug card program allows injured workers to receive services with no out-of-pocket costs.  There is no need for them to save receipts or file reimbursement forms.  Injured workers will also have access to a dedicated call center that is available to answer questions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Benefits:

  • Easy access to over 62,000 pharmacies for filling prescriptions, which includes all the national chain drug stores and 98% of small non-chain pharmacies.
  • A First Fill Program is available for injured workers who suffer a traumatic injury to receive work-related prescriptions immediately after their initial injury before the claim is accepted by OWCP.
  • No out of pocket costs and no need to file for reimbursement.
  • Convenient prescription refill.
  • Personalized prescription card mailed directly to eligible claimants with accepted claims.
  • An easy mail order option is available for injured workers that want the convenience of receiving their prescriptions delivered to their homes.
  • First Script will absorb the cost for first fill prescriptions against a claim that is later denied or determined to be unrelated to the injury.
  • Dedicated call center to handle questions that can be reached at 1-877-203-8966.
