Personal Belongings
Due to the chance of theft, it is recommended that you do not keep more than $5.00 in cash with you. All funds should be deposited with the Patient Funds Clerk, located in Room D-109. You will be given a receipt for the money you deposit.
As an inpatient, you may withdraw your money between the hours of 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., or 1:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M., Monday through Friday; when you are discharged, you may collect your money any time between 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M (if the Patient Funds Clerk window is closed, go "next door" to the Agent Cashier’s window). If you have a large amount of money to collect, you may be given some cash as well as a bank check (which can be immediately cashed) to make up the balance of the money. If you are discharged during "off tour" hours when the Patient Funds Clerk is closed, arrangements will be made for any moneys still on deposit to be mailed to you.
We urge you to leave all your valuables at home, or with the person who brought you to the hospital, for safekeeping. If you cannot do this, you may check them in with the Admissions Clerk. The clerk will place your valuables in an envelope, seal it, and leave the envelope in the safe until you sign for it. To retrieve your envelope during regular hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., you may go to the Admissions Office and request your envelope. If you are discharged at night or on a weekend, the Administrative Officer of the Day (who can be located for you by your Unit Coordinator) will remove your envelope from the safe.
