Atlanta VAMC is located on 26 acres east of Atlanta in Decatur, Georgia with an operating nursing home care unit. In addition, the Atlanta VAMC also operates the Lawrenceville, Oakwood, Smyrna and East Point community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) in addition to the Decatur Clinic. The co-location of the VA Regional Office, to include the National Cemetery Administration, has resulted in a strong One-VA collaboration on such important issues as Freedom of Information Act requests for medical records, shared services, training and access to the facilities. There are two cemeteries affiliated with Atlanta VA Medical Center and they are located in Canton, Georgia and Marietta, Georgia.
