Health Administration Center (HAC)

The Health Administration Center's (HAC) primary mission is to efficiently administer health plans for Veterans and family members.  The Foreign  Medical Program (FMP) provides payment for services to Veterans for the treatment of service-connected disabilities while living or traveling abroad.  Health plans for family members include:

  • Civilian  Health and  Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA)
  • CHAMPVA In-House Treatment Initiative (CITI)
  • CHAMPVA Meds by Mail program
  • Spina Bifida Health Care Program
  • Children of Women Vietnam Veterans Health Care Program

The HAC provides leadership and management of program and initiatives. As VHA's Mail Manager, the HAC works in partnership with the Department and GSA in providing support to all VHA facilities.  In addition, HAC provides graphic design support (including translating and publishing multi-lingual documents) for all programs in the Chief Business Office.

The HAC also spearheads a comprehensive communications mix for external customers for the programs it manages, to include offering State Veterans Service Officer training, beneficiary briefings, and establishing contacts at national conventions.
