Dr. Vander Weg is an Investigator with CRIISP and an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine. His background is in clinical health psychology and behavioral medicine. Dr. Vander Weg’s primary research interests are in behavioral approaches to the prevention and control of cancer and cardiovascular disease. He is particularly interested in the development, application, and evaluation of evidence-based interventions in clinical practice. Much of Dr. Vander Weg’s research to date has focused on tobacco use prevention and cessation, weight control, physical activity promotion, and lifestyle interventions for blood pressure management.
