Dr. Cannon is a VA Quality Scholar with CRIISP. Katrina received her B.S. in 1998 and M.D. in 2002 from The University of Iowa. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at Texas A&M University in Temple, TX in 2005. During residency, her research focused on polypharmacy and potentially inappropriate medication use in elderly home healthcare patients. Her final project was presented at the American Geriatric Society 2005 Annual Meeting and published in The American Journal of Geriatric Pharmacotherapy in June 2006. Following residency, she returned to Iowa to complete a geriatric fellowship and pursue further training in the Masters of Clinical Investigation and Research in conjunction with the VA Quality Scholars fellowship program.
