Avian Flu
An influenza virus that is found in wild birds – they do not usually get sick
Virus can be spread to birds that are being raised for food – they do get very sick
Birds do not usually pass the avian flu to humans
Sometimes humans that are in close contact with the sick birds can become ill or die from the flu virus
If the virus changes enough so that it becomes able to easily infect humans, it can be spread from human to human
