Clinician Administered PTSD Scale
Psychological Assessment and PTSD Treatment Models: Individual, Couple and Family, Group Psychotherapy, Case Management, and Acute Early Intervention

Team Meetings
Trainees attend the weekly PTSR team meeting on Monday from 8:30 to 10:30.  Team meetings facilitate treatment planning and case consultation, and trainees may be expected to present cases and contribute to case discussion.

Supervision in Individual Psychotherapy

Trainees are supervised in providing psychotherapy to veterans with histories of trauma.  Depending on the length of the rotation, the therapy can be short or long-term. Supervision is available in behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and narrative/constructivist models.

Co-leading Group Therapy
Trainees often co-lead therapy groups with PTSR Staff.  A complete list of PTSR treatment groups can be found here.  Groups that are often co-led include the Drop-In Support Group, Sleep Group, Anger Management Group, Korean Veteran Group, World War II Veteran Group, and PTSD Family Education Class.

Supervision in Assessment and Diagnostic Interviewing
All PTSR staff conduct structured diagnostic interviews for assessment of PTSD (using the Clinician Administered PTSD Scale for DSM-IV or CAPS).  Trainees are able to observe and administer the CAPS under supervision.  In addition, PTSR psychologists supervise trainees in offering a range of assessments including objective and projective personality/diagnostic testing and neuropsychological assessment.

Research Involvement
A number of PTSR staff are involved in ongoing research activities and are happy to involve interested trainees.  The PTSR program has a monthly research support group and all trainees are welcome to attend.  See the staff page biographies and publications for the general areas of interest.
