An assessment for Mental Health services begins with:
Intake evaluation: A mental health professional
meets with you. During this meeting concerns are met and information about treatment
options is provided.
Care Coordination: Some veterans are assigned
a care coordinator. This is the main contact person for their treatment team.
Psychological Testing: You may be asked to take
some psychological tests. Testing helps evaluate current concerns. If referred
for a psychological evaluation, a person will meet with a psychologist, neuropsychologist,
or psychology intern.
Medication Management: A psychiatrist or advanced
practice nurse will discuss options for medications and monitoring medication
use.
Psychotherapy: Referrals take place for individual
or group psychotherapy. We also offer services for couples and families. If you
are interested in being in a group, ask your intake specialist about group options.
Addiction Care: There are a variety of programs
to help with addiction recovery.
Other Mental Health Services including inpatient
hospitalization, partial hospitalization, intensive case management, and outreach
for homeless veterans are also available.
