Welcome Home 2009

VA Puget Sound's Office of Public Affairs is on the ground for the demobilization of 3400 soldiers from the Washington State National Guard’s 81st Brigade Combat Team at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. From August 1 to August 8, Public Affairs Specialist Shane Suzuki will be posting updates on our Twitter account and on this page. See Shane's bio below.
If you are a family member, a friend or just someone who is interested in welcoming home our heroes, please check back frequently to find out what it’s like for a returning Guardmember to be back in the U.S. and how the VA is helping them after they return home.

Former Marine and current VA Puget Sound Public Affairs Specialist Shane Suzuki served in Iraq as a combat correspondent embedded with 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment in Ar Ramadi, Iraq.
