Program Mission

The mission of Radiology Service is to provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the male and female veterans within an environment of superior customer service and cost effective quality care at the Miami VAMC as well as at the Oakland Park Clinic.

Services Provided

The main Radiology Service, located on the 3rd floor at the Miami VAMC, offers General Radiology, Fluoroscopy, Interventional Procedures and Computerized Tomography (CAT scan). Mammography and Magnetic Resonance (MR) procedures are performed on the first floor of the Miami VAMC.

At the present time, only General studies and Fluoroscopic services are offered at the Oakland Clinic. However, when the new Broward Clinic opens, we will offer Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT), Mammography and Ultrasound, in addition to General and Fluoroscopic examinations. All examinations with the exception of Mammography are performed and interpreted in a filmless environment (PACs) by a staff of 31 technologists and nine University of Miami affiliated physicians.

Hours of Operation

All procedures with the exception of Mammography are available to patients requiring emergency procedures 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Unscheduled and Scheduled diagnostic procedures are performed during normal business hours 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; MR procedures are available Monday through Saturday.
