What is Advanced Access Scheduling?
Advanced Access Scheduling is a system that allows for easier access to your primary care provider when it is needed and when it is the most convenient for you and your provider.
With Advanced Access Scheduling you, the veteran, will have better access to your provider when you need it.
What does Advanced Access Scheduling do for you?
- You will be able to schedule appointments without the long wait you have now.
- Your appointment will be scheduled at a time that is good for you.
- When you call in, your appointment will be scheduled when we know your provider is available.
- If your provider is not available the day of your appointment, you will be rescheduled much sooner than you are now.
How does Advanced Access Scheduling Work?
- As part of your visit with your primary care provider, a return visit schedule will be discussed. You and your provider may decide that you only need to be seen once or twice a year as long as there are no urgent problems.
- After your visit, a clerk will record how long before your next appointment.
- When it is time for your next visit with your provider, a letter will be mailed reminding you to call for an appointment.
- When you call, you will be given an appointment with your provider within 30 days (seasonal changes may occur). Lab work will be done on the same day or prior, your choice.
- If you have a new problem that you are worried about before it is time for your next appointment, there is space for your provider or someone on your team clinic to see you within 7 working days of your call, or if necessary, within 24 hours.
- If you have any questions about Advanced Access Scheduling, call your provider today.
- Call your team if you need to make or cancel an appointment before you walk in.
