VetCare attracts and manages grants and other resources to support innovative programs that otherwise would not be available during an era of program and service cutbacks brought on by Federal budget restraints.
During its brief history VetCare has already demonstrated its effectiveness to meet the broad needs of all its constituents. The corporation continues to become a major stakeholder in an ever changing health care environment.
VetCare has attracted over $800,000 in grants and donations during its short existence including the donation of a comfort home.
In addition to support for the Fisher House, the VetCare Corporation has provided funds for the VAMC’s Annual Cancer Survivors Day program, travel costs to send patients to the National Rehabilitation Games, telemedicine, equipment, and many other projects and events.
VetCare’s mission is to expand services to veterans by improving therapeutic services, residential projects to provide affordable housing, and supporting educational and training activities to improve health care services for veterans and their caregivers.
