Equipment Safety Fact Sheet for the Health Buddy

  1. Use equipment only after checking it to be sure wires were not damaged in transit.


  2. Only connect equipment to electrical outlets with a grounding feature. Use an adaptor plug for outlets without a grounding feature.

  4. Do not run the power cord under carpeting, under furniture legs, or across walkways.

  6. When removing the cord from electrical outlets, grasp it firmly in your hand and pull it straight out from the wall. Do not twist or bend it while pulling it from the outlet.


  7. Be sure to bundle wires and stow them where they are not easily tripped over or run over by wheelchairs.

  9. Take care not to eat or drink beverages when using equipment. Do not set beverages down beside equipment as damage may result from inadvertent spills.


  10. Protect equipment from accidents by keeping pets and small children out of the area where it is located.
