VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York is committed to support returned troops from Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom and to make sure they have the health care and benefits they need.
Each medical center and benefits office has points of contact to work with service members and veterans from Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
It is very important to note that you have five years from your date of discharge to receive free health care for any condition that may be related to combat service. After the five years, a co-payment status will depend on whether your illness or injury is found to be service-connected.
