Spotlight on Syracuse

DAV VTN Grows
Our Disabled American Veterans Volunteer Transportation Network (DAV VTN) continues to grow with more volunteers each month. A newspaper article published a few months ago helped us get approximately 15 new DAV drivers and people continue to call and ask to assist.

Super Bowl Party
The Annual Super Bowl Party, held February 4, gave our patients a chance to enjoy the large screen television, lots of prizes and food hosted by Veteran’s Voices. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them, as well as our staff volunteers Paco Valle and Susan Stamp, and our VIP staff for volunteering to make this an enjoyable evening for our patients.

National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans
Our Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week was full of activities for our patients. We began the week with a President’s Day crossword puzzle and trivia contest. The Oneida- Madison BOCES students provided two baking demonstrations with some tasty treats. We also had a casino hour, a spaghetti luncheon, and piano recital. We concluded the week with a coffee social, and movie café and crafts.
