VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York - VISN 2
Veterans Service Centers (VSCs) are in place in Albany, Bath, Canandaigua, Western New York, Syracuse and the Rochester Outpatient Clinic.
These centers were designed to provide easy access to information on the Veterans Health Benefits Package.
With every change in health benefits, the VSC responds by assuring staff members are kept current and up-to-date in order to provide the most accurate information regarding eligibility for VA healthcare benefits to our veterans.
In addition to this service, the VSC is comprised of other specialty areas such as the beneficiary travel program, the patient funds program, decedent affairs, administrative officer of the day. In some cases the VSC is responsible for the compensation and pension program and the hoptel unit as well.
With this wide array of services, we maintain our focus on providing service to veterans.
Through our virtual Call Center design, we are able to respond to veterans calling for information on their health benefits, eligibility, billing questions or financial assessment. The call center enables us to have calls answered by a live voice rather than a recorded voice. Because of our integrated database, we are able to respond to questions of a general nature at any of our VSC sites across the Network.
Each facility has a Veterans Service Center Manager who handles local management of the VSC.
