Have you visited My
HealtheVet lately? If
not, now’s a good time
to go to www.myhealth.va.gov and have another look.
What’s New
We’ve added these features to
My HealtheVet:
• an upgraded Rx Refill, which
now includes drug names as well as
numbers
• screening tools for post-traumatic
stress disorder, depression
and alcohol use
Later this year, you’ll be able to
view online VHA health information,
including your VA appointments,
co-pay balances, certain lab
test results and select VA electronic
health records.
No Computer? No Problem!
Even if you don’t own a computer,
you can still use HealtheVet.
All five Healthcare Network Upstate
New York VA medical centers have
patient resource rooms with private
computer stations and secure
Internet access. Staff or volunteers
and the local My HealtheVet point
of contact can help get you started.
Rooms are open Monday through
Friday. For times, call your local
VA Medical Center.
Since My HealtheVet’s introduction
in 2003, thousands of
veterans and their loved ones have
taken advantage of its convenient,
safe and secure resources. Don’t
wait — step through this growing
gateway to health information and
benefits today!
Surf Safely with My HealtheVet:
Come in to Verify Your ID
With our new enhancements to My HealtheVet, it’s more important than ever
that your private information’s security is guaranteed. To ensure this, VA is
asking veterans to make a one-time only visit to a VA facility. This in-person authentication
process will verify your identity and allow us to release your records to the
system. However, before you’re authenticated, you must:
1. Register on the My HealtheVet Web site at www.myhealth.va.gov as a VA patient
and view the 12-minute orientation video. If you don’t have access to the Web, you
can come to your local VA Medical Center to watch the video.
2. Print, read and sign the Special Consent and Participation form (10-5345a-MHV),
available on the Web site or at your VA facility.
3. Present a form of government-issued photo ID to a qualified VA staff member.
Once you complete these steps, you’ll be able to access all My HealtheVet’s
features, as well as any new features released in the future.
