Have you ever needed to insert a picture of a Website or another computer window into a Word document, or a PowerPoint presentation?
To capture a screen shot from your computer:
- Make sure the window you want to capture is on top
- While holding down the Alt key, press the Print Screen button on your keyboard
- Switch to the document that will be the destination (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Choose Edit > Paste to drop the screen shot into the document
- Click once on the screen shot to select it, then grab one of the four corner handles to resize it
In step 2, holding down Alt while pressing Print Screen gives you a copy of just the window on top. If you don't hold down the Alt key, you can capture the entire screen, not just the window on top.
