Navigation Secrets of the VISN 2 Website |
|
OK, we admit, many of these tips are not exclusive to the VISN 2 Website. In fact, you'll find many similarities between using the VISN 2 Website and other major sites on the Internet. And this is a good thing: the more websites that offer standard features, the easier the Web is to use for everybody.
- Try clicking on images. If you click on the flag banner at the top of any page on the VISN 2 Website, it will take you back to the Home page. You can spot images that act as hyperlinks by hovering your mouse over the image: if the mouse cursor changes from an arrow to a finger pointing, clicking on the image will take you to another place.
- Navigation bar at left. The blue vertical bar at the far left of every page represents the Website's filing system. Virtually every page on the site fits under one of these categories. Get to know what's located in each of the sections, and you'll have an easier time finding what you want in the future. The Care & Service Lines page contains a particular treasure of links to Network 2's clinical and administrative departments.
- Search on every page. Don't miss the Search box at the top right of every page of the VISN 2 Website. It incorporates the same robust search capability as the full-fledged Search page.
- Page bottom links. The bottom of each VISN 2 page contains 10 links that are consistently there for your convenience.
- Sitemap and Quicknavigate. These two navigation aids list every major topic on the Website. Quicknav lists topics alphabetically, Sitemap expands upon the categories listed in the left-hand blue navigation bar.
- Find on Page. When you encounter a long page of text, you can hunt for a specific word using your browser's Find on Page feature, usually found under Edit > Find on Page. Using the Find on Page command with the extensive content listing on the Sitemap just mentioned helps find links quickly.
- Ask the Web Team. If you can't find something on the Website, we have one of the most responsive web teams on the planet. We're here to help. Reach us through the Contact Us page, or send an e-mail to the VISN 2 Web Team.
