Batavia VA Medical Center

The VA Western New York Healthcare System (VAWNYHS), part of the VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York, consists of two health care facilities in Buffalo and Batavia, as well as seven community-based outpatient clinics.

The Batavia facility, situated on 48.8 acres in Genesee County’s largest city, was constructed in 1933.

Primary Care
Veterans can receive primary care, wellness and preventive outpatient care at both the Buffalo and Batavia facilities as well as in the seven community-based outpatient clinics.

Specialized Services
Batavia VAMC provides geriatric and rehabilitation medicine services, a residential care post-traumatic stress disorder unit, and out-patient services.

Laboratory
Blood drawing services available. Hours of operation Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. -4:00 p.m.

Radiology Services
Offered Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to include general radiology services using digital technology and bone densitometry.

New York State Veterans Home
In 1995, a New York State Veterans Home was built on the Batavia grounds making additional extended care available.

Research
VAWNYHS researchers have earned worldwide acclaim in developing the cardiac pacemaker. Recent breakthroughs in the study of tinnitus and progress toward a vaccine for childhood ear infections promise benefits to all mankind.
