Grand Island, Nebr. Veterans Adm. Hospital, Gen. Med. & Surg. Dedicated in Sept. 1950. 201 Beds. Serves 49 counties, Nebr. and Kans. 260 employees. Vet. Adm. Voluntary Service (VAVS) consists of 21 veterans welfare and service organizations - 235 regular volunteers.
The Veterans Hospital located in the northern section of Grand Island, was constructed in 1950. This 201 bed facility is staffed by nine M.D.s and many other staff specialists. The Grand Island Veterans Hospital is modern in every respect. 1959
