The new 1264-bed Veterans Administration Hospital ten story superstructure. This Hospital has the greatest number of beds under one roof within the Veterans Administration system, and is located in Greater Milwaukee Metropolitan Area, Wood, Wisconsin.
The new 10-story hospital building No. 111 was constructed in 1962- 1966. First patients received May 1, 1966. It has a potential 1264 beds under one roof, and was built at a cost of $28 million, and has approximately $5 million in equipment.
Building No. 2, located in the center of the grounds was built in 1869 at a cost of $318,000. It is a 5-story brick building and houses 408 Domiciliary members.
